Position: Sr Electronics Engineer
Location: Penang, Malaysia
Job Objectives:
The Senior Electronic Engineer will lead and design the electronic hardware of a height
adjustable desk system such as: controller, power supply, handsets, etc. Furthermore, the
engineer will collaborate with other engineers to develop semi-automated jigs and check
gauges for the production floor.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, design, develop and validate development requirements of electronic
design project - Lead cross functional engineers in new project development
- Carry out detailed electronic circuit design, including simulation and proof of concept
- Design schematic, layout and gerber of projects, considering the compliance requirement
- Create and maintain BOMs of the new designs and perform lifecycle activities
- Coordinate lifecycle management for EOL parts, by considering suitability, availability, and
cost - Liaise with vendors and cross functional team to produce prototypes for design validation
- Conduct design verification, validation and documentation of safety, and EMC compliance
- Perform design FMEA and debug/troubleshoot and addresses customer’s complaint/reject
- Perform and evaluate costing studies meeting the costing targets
- Collaborate with internal engineers to develop semi-automated jigs and checking gauges
- Create & maintain technical documentation (schematics, specifications, reports etc.)
- Release new projects based on new project ideas and roadmaps
Experience with one or more of the following are advantageous to the position:
- Electrical/electronic system design
- Switch-mode power supplies
- Motion control systems
DC Motors and its controls (hall-sensors, BLDC control circuits, etc.) - Sensorics
- Certification- and energy efficiency requirements
- Project management
- Certification- and energy efficiency requirements
Requirements:
- Requires BEng/BSc or Meng/MSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and minimum 6 years of
experience - Hands-on working experience in electronic design and validation process
- Ability to present creative solutions and work independently
- Deliver high quality work under tight schedules and deadline
- Good verbal and written skill in English with the ability to communicate with external and
internal teams are essential - Focus on team’s goals and objectives in alignment with the company’s vision and mission
- Strong people’s skills to be able to work as a team member and contribute towards the
growth of a healthy work environment at Actiforce
